Where To Find Us

Lewes Castle is located centrally in Lewes off the High Street, a few minutes’ walk from both, bus stops and the railway station. Lewes is easily reached from the A27, A26 and A275.

Drivers using the A27 should enter the town from the eastern end of the Lewes by-pass at the Southerham Roundabout via the Cuilfail Tunnel. Those coming from the west, enter via the Ashcombe roundabout and continue on the A227 into Lewes. Lewes Railway Station is served by regular trains from Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings and London.

There are numerous parking areas in Lewes. The closest long-term car park to the Castle is behind the East Sussex Records Office and the Bowling Green off the Castle Precincts Lane from West Street via Castle Ditch Lane.

See www.eastsussex.gov.uk/roadsandtransport/parking/download.htm for a detailed maps of parking and drop-off areas for guests and coaches.

There is a drop off point in front of Barbican House Museum which is adjacent to the Castle entrance. There is also a parking space here which may be booked directly through East Sussex County Council where the wedding car may wait during the ceremony.
